Handmade Japanese Folding Knife - $35 This knife is known as the “Higo no Kami” which is an aristocratic title historically given to powerful Japanese samurais. In late 19th century Japan, a blacksmith added a protruding lever to a pocketknife which allowed the blade to swiftly open and close. The new knife design quickly became popular with everyone from craftsmen to schoolchildren, who would use the nimble knife in pencil sharpening contests.

EDC Bike Kit - $79 Every day carry (or EDC) refers to a small collection of pocket-friendly tools that you carry on a daily basis for tackling situations both mundane and, when required, more urgent. The idea is to keep the kit simple with an eye towards self-reliance — you want items that do the most, while taking up as little pocket space as possible.

Japanese Stainless Cocktail Set - $79 This four-piece cocktail set has everything you need to be a consummate bartender and cocktail slinger (short of fine spirits, small-batch syrups and fresh citrus). Each piece is carefully designed, tested and created by a Japanese company who has been manufacturing stainless steel barware since the 1960s. The star of the cocktail set is the three-piece cobbler shaker, which consists of a mixing tin, a lid with a built-in strainer and a cap. The three-piece shaker is essential for the “hard shake,” a precise but flamboyant shaking technique innovated by legendary Japanese bartender Kazuo Uyeda, who has been tending bar in Tokyo since 1966. According to devotees of this method, the hard shake imparts a smoother textural component to a cocktail than a traditional shake.

Waterproofed Waxed Canvas Lunch Bag - $49 A lunchbag that not only keeps your midday meal from rolling around, but can also be easily wiped down when something spills - flimsy bags are a thing of the past. Durable waxed cotton canvas can be used again and again. It keeps water out, easily cleans on the inside and looks, well, grown up.  The leather strap is oil-tanned and locally sourced, attached to the canvas with rivets, which beats glue or cheap thread that eventually wears out and falls off. The bags are constructed by a seamstress who has worked with fabrics for nearly 30 years, and has a fondness for materials that will outlast their owners and wearers.
